The Memphis Improvisational Theatre is an improvisational training center and production company in the Memphis, Tennessee area. The name represents the core values that we want to promote: 1) a group closely identified with Memphis, 2) a group that performs improvisational theatre and creates sketch & multimedia works through improvisation, and 3) a group that has a strong foundation in theatre.

MIT serves two purposes. First, it is a business entity responsible for producing the performances, marketing, paying the bills, selling tickets, etc. Second, it is a resident theatre company responsible for developing actors, creating new works, and teaching workshops.

We are dedicated to the ongoing artistic development of our actors, the entertainment and enlightenment of our audiences, and the enhancement of the theatre community both locally and beyond.
